Slight Risk
Pipestone, Rock, and Nobles counties, MN
Severe Thunderstorm Watch

Not a ton to say about this day. Got to my target extremely early as I wasn't able to get a long night's sleep while sleeping in the car at the rest stop I stayed at out in South Dakota from the previous chase. Target was Worthington, MN. Sat there for about 5 hours straight. I'm sure the people working at the gas station I was sitting at were wondering what the hell I was doing there for so long but oh well. It was a tough forecast as it was not real clear where storms would fire. SPC had a very broad slight risk and 5% tornado but didn't really focus in on any specific area, and neither did the models. Long and boring story short, ended up chasing a relatively small MCS out near the SD/MN border. Nothing exciting and nowhere near tornadic but atleast it was a storm. Tornadic storms did fire about 90 miles to the west of where I live but I was too far away to intercept them from Worthington. A weird day but atleast I didnt go home with nothing. Did get a nice surprise on the way home with a great mammatus show and some nice lightning too. I actually saw a couple different tour groups just outside of Pipestone, MN as well. Not sure which ones, but thought it was kinda weird to run in to them this far north on a pretty low risk day.

Shelf cloud coming at me. I don't think there was too much in the way of hail or severe-level winds but still a nice little shelf none the less:

A little behind the shelf and trying to get back in front of it. The storm must not have  been at its healthiest stage at this point since I didnt run in to much rain or wind despite being behind the shelf. After this I move south and east out of Pipestone, MN but lose decent visibility of the shelf. Chased it down towards the Iowa border and then eventually let it over take me. No hail but a TON of rain.
Behind the shelf trying to get back in front. Of course my luck the only two trees along the entire frickin road block part of the shelf in my picture:

Mammatus on the way home. I forget where I was when I took this but it was somewhere along I90 between Jackson and Fairmont, MN. Definitely the best mammatus I have seen to date:

And a couple of lightning pics. The lightning was great as I was driving about 15 miles west of Albert Lea, MN but the exits I wanted to take to stop and get some pics were all close for construction so I wasn't able to stop until I was in Albert Lea and by then the lightning had really tapered down. But was still able to get a couple pics of a semi-distant storm:
